Univision’s ‘Primer Impacto’ Gets a New Home in the Newsport

“Primer Impacto,” Univision’s nightly newsmagazine, has moved to a new set in the Miami Newsport, the new home of Fusion and Univision News. Along with its redesigned studio, the show has added new segments and expanded its social media integration.

“For almost 20 years, the show has been steadfastly committed to serving the Hispanic community through uniquely bold, no-holds-barred reporting on an immense variety of issues, earning millions of viewers’ continued trust and loyalty and playing an important role in informing and empowering that community,” Univision News president Isaac Lee said in a statement. “Now, armed with the most advanced technology available today in the television industry, it enhances its commitment to delivering first-rate journalism with an impact.”

The revamped show will debut a segment on new tech innovations as well as a truth-or-lie segment to fact-check entertainment news. Additionally, the show will feature social media responses from viewers on the screen.

MIAMI – A new era is dawning for the No. 1 rated daily newsmagazine among Hispanic viewers, Univision’s award-winning “Primer Impacto” (First Impact). The show is now airing from a new, cutting-edge set located in Univision News’ recently opened state-of-the-art production facility, Newsport, and includes new segments and expanded social media integration. Hosted by Barbara Bermudo and Pamela Silva Conde, “Primer Impacto” airs Monday through Friday, LIVE on the Univision Network at 5:00 p.m. ET/2:00 p.m. PT; its weekend edition is broadcast at the same hour on Saturdays and Sundays.

The spectacular set newly created for “Primer Impacto” is equipped with today’s most advanced broadcasting technology, including robotic cameras, as well as a highly sophisticated top-tech master control room. In addition, reflecting the explosion of social media use among Hispanics, the revamped show is featuring viewers’ social comments on screen and allowing them to participate in the program’s content more directly than ever before.

New segments have also been added, broadening the scope of the newsmagazine’s content. Created in response to popular demand, “Tecnomanía” (Technomania) brings viewers up to speed on all the newest scientific advances, inventions, and innovations designed to improve our lives in the near future, while “Verdad o Mentira?” (Truth or Lie?) looks into the latest social media buzz surrounding today’s biggest celebrities, with a novel “lie detector” feature that separates fact from fiction. Additional segments will be created in the coming months.
