Today Show Wins Second Week in a Row in the Demo

morning show anchors_640The Today show continues to gain ground on longtime morning rival Good Morning America. The NBC morning show, which saw its 16-year winning streak snapped three years ago, won its second week in a row in the A25-54 demo, and third win in five weeks.

GMA still held on to win May sweeps in both total viewers and the demo, but it sets up what will be an interesting morning show battle this summer.

Not to be outdone, CBS This Morning had its best May sweep delivery in viewers in more than two decades (based on CBS’s available electronic records).

CTM was up double-digits in May in the A25-54 rating (+13 percent) and among total viewers (+14 percent). CBS hasn’t been this close to NBC in viewers in 21 years (since the 1993-1994 season).
