Anchors Abroad on TODAY – Series Begins Monday, May 2

NEW YORK – April 21, 2011 – The “Today” anchors are leaving in May! After their trip across the pond to cover the Royal Wedding, the “Today” anchors will be globetrotters once again. In a special series beginning Monday, May 2, the members of the “Today” team travel abroad to make surprise cameos on some of


the biggest international television shows.

On Monday, May 2, Al Roker busts a move as the orange Wiggle from Australia’s hit TV show “The Wiggles.” Roker stars in an original music video titled “The Weatherman” and performs in concert in Australia for 60,000 people. On Tuesday, May 3, Natalie Morales channels her inner soap star and takes a leading role in an episode of Telemundo’s hit telenovela, Los Herederos Del Monte, filmed in Bogota, Colombia.

On Wednesday, May 4, Ann Curry guest stars on the famed Danish game show, “Bingo Banko,” watched by nearly one fourth of the entire country of Denmark every Saturday night. On Thursday, May 5, Kathie Lee and Hoda take Jamaica by the coconut cocktails, and guest host the country’s morning program, “Smile Jamaica.” Finally, on Friday, May 6, Meredith Vieira practices weird science and makes a cameo in the UK’s hit “Dr. Who,” the longest and most successful sci-fi show ever.
