Taking the Express Back to Kentucky

By SteveK

Headline News anchor Robin Meade‘s story yesterday about a National Guard Batallion has generated a big viewer response. The Morning Express with Robin Meade report about the Kentucky National Guard Batallion stationed in Wisconsin, who are trying to get home before they are deployed to Afghanistan, led many to contact the United Way in Kentucky to help pay for the trip.

The Guard needs to raise $50,000 before April 15 for the trip, and viewers are directed to visit the show’s web site for more information.

Meade tells TVNewser, “Anytime we cover a story like this, we get flooded with inquiries about how people can help. It’s really rewarding to be able to lend a hand like this, and to know that our viewers are so involved and engaged. We hope that our efforts will help pay off — that’s what it’s all about.”
