CBS’ “Face the Nation” was back on top this week, topping the public affairs shows in both Total Viewers and A25-54 viewers. It was a split decision for the #2 spot: NBC’s “Meet the Press” takes second in Total Viewers and ABC’s “This Week” takes second in the A25-54 demographic.
Coverage of “Face the Nation'”s full hour dropped to 49% this week due to CBS’ coverage of NFL football. “Face” also had a strong lead-in audience from “CBS Sunday Morning,” which is up +10% in households vs. the same Sunday last year.
“Face the Nation,” “This Week” and “Fox News Sunday” were all up compared to the same week last year, with ABC up the most: +25% in Total Viewers and+28% in the A25-54 demographic. “Meet the Press” was up in Total Viewers but down in younger viewers.
Cable replays of “Fox News Sunday” averaged a combined 2,455,000 Total Viewers and 573,000 A25-54 viewers.
“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour airs in just 49% of the country.
