CBS’ “Face the Nation with Bob Schieffer” was the top rated Sunday public affairs program in both total viewers and the key A25-54 demo on April 12. Interviews with Secretary of State John Kerry, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) helped “Face the Nation” beat its closest competitor by 450K viewers.
ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” was second in both categories, while NBC’s “Meet the Press with Chuck Todd” finished third in both total viewers and the demo.
“Face the Nation” was up +7% in total viewers and even in the demo, compared to the same week last year. “This Week” was up significantly, plus +22% in viewers and up 32% in the demo. “Meet the Press” finished up +18% in viewers and up +14% the demo.
“Fox News Sunday” was up +2% in viewers but slightly down in the demo, while combining with cable replays for 3.1 million viewers. Replays on FNC averaged a combined 1.87 million total viewers and 344K in the demo.
“Face the Nation” is based on the first half-hour only, as the full contiguous hour aired in just 76.3% of the country.
