Summer Chill: CBS Eyes Climate Change

By Chris Ariens

Tomorrow night, and for three more nights this week, CBS News’ science and technology correspondent Daniel Sieberg will take viewers through his 20-day journey to the Arctic and beyond, to report on climate change.

Sieberg followed scientists to a place where the changes are most rapid and most visible: the Arctic. CBS News tells us, Sieberg “traveled on board a Canadian ice-breaker, starting in Nova Scotia and winding through Canada’s Northwest Passage.”

The four-part series is part of CBS Evening News’ larger series “Saving The World.” Sieberg’s excursions are also chronicled on CBSNews.com with blog posts, photos, vlogs and podcasts. In one blog entry, Sieberg writes about having communication device withdrawl: “I woke up this morning and realized that being away from my BlackBerry and cell phone even for a few days has exposed that I’m not as socially well-adjusted as I thought I was.”

The reports air Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday on The CBS Evening News.
