Shep Explains Over-Weight Loss: ‘I’ve lost too much’

By Chris Ariens

The days of Twinkies and double cheeseburgers are over for Shepard Smith. The Daily News’ Richard Huff talked with the Fox News anchor as the network prepares to celebrate 10 years of being the #1 cable news channel tomorrow. Over the weekend, on her Tumblr, columnist and author Paula Froelich had a series of images of Smith, aka the incredibly shrinking anchorman:

“I’ve lost too much,” Smith says of his weight loss.

Smith was told by his doctor that he had sky-high cholesterol and high blood pressure. He’s since cut out the junk and plays tennis three times a week. “I’m in the best shape of my life,” he says, adding that his last medical report was great.

As for the milestone, Smith says it’s all due to one man: “No category leader had ever been dethroned in cable,” Smith says. “[Roger Ailes] had a plan and he said if we stick with it, we’d be okay.”
