Ryan Kadro Named Senior Broadcast Producer Of ‘CBS This Morning’

By Alex Weprin

CBS News’ “CBS This Morning” has named Ryan Kadro senior broadcast producer. Kadro joined “CTM” as a senior producer when it launched, having worked previously at “The Early Show.”

“Over the past year and a half, he has built one of the best feature tape units in the business, overseen the successful new 8a format and been a vital editorial voice in the control room,” wrote “CTM” EP Chris Licht in an email to staff. “Ryan is also a natural and trusted news room leader who staffers seek out for advice on everything from scripts to restaurant recommendations.”

Kadro will now be Licht’s number two on the broadcast. In January, Tom Mazzarelli left as “CTM'”s senior broadcast producer, while Brian Applegate, who succeeded Mazzarelli, left to oversee ‘CBS This Morning Saturday” in May.

Licht’s note is below.

Team:

I am pleased to announce Ryan Kadro is the new Senior Broadcast Producer of CBS This Morning.

Ryan has been an integral part of the development, launch and day-to-day operation of our broadcast. Over the past year and a half, he has built one of the best feature tape units in the business, overseen the successful new 8a format and been a vital editorial voice in the control room. Ryan is also a natural and trusted news room leader who staffers seek out for advice on everything from scripts to restaurant recommendations. As the second-in-command of CTM, Ryan will be the point person for day to day operations of the broadcast.

We’ve already celebrated the great numbers of the past season and head into the summer in a great position. Ryan’s promotion will only strengthen our operation as our momentum continues to build.

Thank you all for all you do to make CTM a success and join me in congratulating Ryan on his new role.

Chris
