Q3 Cable Ratings: HLN’s Best Third Quarter Ever

In the just-completed third quarter, HLN had its best Q3 ever among total viewers and A25-54 viewers for total day vieweing.

“Morning Express with Robin Meade” grew the most of any cable news morning program in younger viewers, up 21% year over year. It also topped MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” by 24% in the younger demo.

Other programs showing growth: Prime News at 6pmET up 23% in Total Viewers and up 16% in A25-54 viewers. “Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell at 7pmET was 11% in Total Viewers and 14% in A25-54 viewers. And “Showbiz Tonight” at 11pmET was up 20% in Total Viewers and up 24% in A25-54 viewers

HLN continues to have a strong 2009, posting its best Q3 total day deliveries ever among total viewers and adults 25-54, with 300k and 135k, respectively.

HLN program highlights:
– Morning Express with Robin Meade grew the most of any cable news morning program among adults 25-54 compared to a year ago, up 21% (153k vs. 126k). It also topped MSNBC’s Morning Joe by 24% among adults 25-54 (153k vs. 123k).

– Prime News at 6p increased by double-digit margins over year-ago among both total viewers and adults 25-54, up 23% among total viewers (285k vs. 232k) and up 16% among adults 25-54 (116k vs. 100k).

– Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell increased the most among total viewers at 7p, up 11% (417k vs. 376k) and increased 14% among
adults 25-54 (164k vs. 144k).

– Showbiz Tonight increased 20% among total viewers versus prior year (444k. vs. 370k) and increased 24% among adults 25-54 (208k vs. 168k).
