President Obama Cites Bill O’Reilly in Op-Ed, Bill O’Reilly Responds on FNC

In an op-ed in USA Today Friday, President Obama cited Fox News Channel’s Bill O’Reilly as someone who would support a deficit reduction plan similar to the one he is proposing:

“A balanced deficit deal that includes some new revenues isn’t just a Democratic position. It’s a position that has been taken by everyone from Warren Buffett to Bill O’Reilly.”

O’Reilly opted to respond to the editorial by calling into “America’s newsroom,” anchored by Bill Hemmer this morning. The primetime host said that President Obama was not exactly correct in his analysis:

“I don’t know what President Obama was referring to when he used my name, but we have been pretty consistent in telling everyone that the tax code has to be reformed.”
