PBS Leads News and Documentary Emmy Nominees

EmmyAwardPBS leads the way with 43 News and Documentary Emmy nominations. CBS News follows close behind with 42. Announced earlier today, the 35th annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards will be presented Tuesday, September 30 at the Frederick P. Rose Hall in the Time Warner Center. ABC News picks up 19 nominations, HBO grabs 15, NBC has 13 and CNN is up for 9 awards.

Awards will be presented in 43 categories, including the first-ever categories for news & documentary programming in Spanish. Univision leads with 5 nominations. Telemundo, CNN en Español and Discovery en Español are also nominated.

William J. Small, CBS News Washington Bureau chief from 1962-1974, and later president of NBC News, will receive the Lifetime Achievement award.
