O’Reilly, On CNN As A News Story, Fights Back On His Website

By Chris Ariens

Bill O’Reilly‘s comments last Wednesday on his radio show have made for some interesting segments today on CNN. And now O’Reilly is fighting back, via his website. Writing “CNN has moved to the dark side,” O’Reilly accuses the network of teaming up with a “far-left smear website” to challenge what was said on The Radio Factor. You can listen to the audio on billoreilly.com. But here’s one of the quotes:

“And I couldn’t get over the fact that there was no difference between Sylvia’s restaurant and any other restaurant in New York City. I mean, it was exactly the same, even though it’s run by blacks, primarily black patronship.”

Media Matters For America is that “website” O’Reilly is referring to. Karl Frisch, a spokesman for Media Matters, told The AP that O’Reilly’s comments were “ignorant and racially charged.”

As for CNN, American Morning aired more of the comments and had a discussion with Roland Martin. (A segment anchored by former Fox News Channel anchor Kiran Chetry). See it here. Also, O’Reilly spoke with CNN’s Rick Sanchez by phone last night, telling him “there was no racial intent in what I said.”

We’re told Sanchez’ 8pmET show, Out in the Open, a program which highlights issues of race, will be discussing the topic again tonight.
