October 2015 Ratings: Fox News Holds On For Wins

Fox News Channel narrowly held on to win the A25-54 demo for the month of October, edging CNN by 1,000 viewers, or just .3 percent. (CNN got a boost from the first democratic debate). But unlike CNN and MSNBC, Fox News was down in the A25-54 demo vs. Oct. 2014: down -11 percent in total day and down -1 percent in prime time. Among total viewers the network saw growth: up +3 percent in both total day and in prime time. FNC has now been the No. 1 news network for 166 months–nearly 14 years.

The ratings for October, 2015 (Nielsen Live + Same Day data):

  • Prime time (Mon-Sun): 1,760,000 total viewers / 294,000 A25-54
  • Total Day (Mon-Sun): 1,085,000 total viewers / 196,000 A25-54

FNC’s prime time lineup of Bill O’Reilly, Megyn Kelly and Sean Hannity all saw viewer growth vs. last year, up an average of +4 percent.

Noon ET program Outnumbered had its most-watched month ever with 1.38 million total viewers. All other daytime programs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET are up in total viewers as well. Shepard Smith Reporting at 3 p.m. ET is up +11 percent in total viewers and up +8 percent in the A25-54 demo.
