Obama to Make Sunday Show Rounds?

By kevin

Word is spreading that President Obama could have designs to expand his recent media push by appearing on the CBS, ABC, and NBC Sunday morning public affairs shows. Earlier today, the NY Times’ Adam Nagourney wrote:

White House officials said that while nothing is certain — schedules are still being worked out and all that — they are looking to land Mr. Obama to back-to-back appearances on “This Week” with George Stephanopoulos on ABC, “Meet the Press” on NBC, and “Face the Nation” on CBS. No word on Fox or CNN. Should this happen, Mr. Obama will be the first sitting president to blanket the Sunday morning programs, albeit potentially one limited to just the major broadcast networks.

The networks are mum so far.

It’s a full-court press on healthcare reform: his address to congress on Wednesday, “60 Minutes” yesterday, and Bloomberg TV tonight, although that is more about the one-year anniversary of the financial collapse. Bloomberg White House correspondent Julianna Goldman’s interview airs at 6:30pmET.

> Update, 6:54pmET: FishbowlDC confirms Pres. Obama will do five Sunday shows. ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and — not FOX — but Univision.
