Obama Mocks Republicans Over CNBC Debate

By Mark Joyella

President Obama took a few shots Monday night at Republicans over their complaints of unfair treatment during last week’s CNBC Republican presidential debate. “They say, ‘when I talk to Putin, he’s going to straighten out,'” the president said at a fundraiser in New York City. “And then it turns out they can’t handle a bunch of CNBC moderators.”

“If you can’t handle those guys, I don’t think the Chinese and the Russians are going to be too worried about you,” Obama joked about the GOP candidates, reports The Hill.

On Friday, the Republican National Committee announced it would pull out of a planned NBC News debate next year because of the CNBC debate, and representatives of GOP campaigns met over the weekend to draft a letter to television networks outlining their expectations for future debates.
