Insiders tell us several journalists were getting a little too close to the action outside the Seminole Country Courthouse in Sanford, FL late last week. A number of TV producers and reporters in the parking lot were cautioned by the court not to get too close to the jurors who will decide the case against George Zimmerman. Zimmerman is on trial in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin in February 2012. Opening statements get underway today. It is the highest-profile case, at least when judged by the news coverage, since the Jodi Arias trial earlier this year.
HLN, which will carry near gavel-to-gavel coverage of the case is bringing on extra anchor help in the form of former CNN and BET host T.J. Holmes. An HLN spokesperson tells TVNewser Holmes is doing freelance work for the network during the trial.
