CNN’s Parisa Khosravi is taking on the newly created role of Senior Vice President of Global Relations. CNN Worldwide president Jeff Zucker announced the move in the morning editorial meeting. Khosravi, who started her career at CNN in 1987 as a video journalist, will be the company’s global brand ambassador. Khosravi previously served as the SVP of International Newsgathering for CNN Worldwide.

In this new role, she’ll continue to report to CNN International head Tony Maddox. “She will be CNN’s go-to person for editorial dealings with governments and key players outside the US, securing key interviews,” Maddox write in a note to staff, obtained by TVNewser. “[O]ne of her first tasks will be to help lay the groundwork for the return of the World Report conference.”
