MSNBC and CNBC Gear Up For The Games

With a month to go until the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing games, NBC Olympics has announced 3,600 hours of coverage on NBC, USA, MSNBC, CNBC, Oxygen, Telemundo, Universal HD and NBCOlympics.com.

MSNBC will once again give over their daytime schedule, and CNBC their nighttime and overnight schedule to Olympics coverage.

• The games will air on MSNBC from 5amET – 5pmET. The network will carry a total of 175 hours over 19 days. Prior to the Opening Ceremony, MSNBC will provide coverage of soccer matches on Wednesday, Aug. 6 and Thursday, Aug. 7. MSNBC will be the network for softball, soccer, beach volleyball, wrestling, basketball, volleyball and weightlifting.

It is doubtful MSNBC will produce a wrap up show as they had during the Sydney, Salt Lake, Athens and Torino games.

• CNBC will air Olympics coverage from 5pmET-8pmET and from MidnightET – 4:30amET. CNBC will carry 95.5 hours of Olympic programming over 16 days.
