Morning Show Ratings: Week of October 28

ABC’s “Good Morning America” wins another week in the mornings leading No. 2 NBC’s “Today” show by 759,000 Total Viewers and by 47,000 A25-54 viewers.

As we reported last week, preliminarily, “GMA” won its first Halloween broadcast in 22 years, a domain that had long been dominated by the NBC morning show. In final ratings for Thursday, “GMA” had a +594,000 total viewer lead and a +79,000 demo lead on “Today.”

Week-to-week, only “Today” saw growth in both total viewers and the demo. “GMA” and “CBS This Morning” were up in the demo but down in total viewers.

Nielsen levels were impacted for the same week last year because of Superstorm Sandy, so a year-over-year comparisons cannot, with certainty, be made. However, when you look at what numbers Nielsen did provide for the week, all three shows are down in the demo, while only “GMA” showed total viewer growth.

The averages for the week of October 21, 2013:

  • Total Viewers: ABC: 5.543M / NBC: 4.784M / CBS: 2.961M
  • A25-54 viewers: ABC: 2.092M / NBC: 2.045M / CBS: 1.004K
