The advertiser pull-out of Glenn Beck’s Fox News show has now reached “about a dozen companies,” the NYTimes’ Brian Stelter reports today. ConAgra, Geico, Procter & Gamble and Progressive Insurance are the latest companies to part ways with Beck.
As we first reported last Thursday, Fox News has not experienced a loss of revenue as the pulled ads were simply moved to other Fox News programs.
Meanwhile, in a counter to the ColorofChange.org campaign, a Support Glenn Beck site has been set up asking fans, “to show your support for Glenn Beck” by contacting the companies. The site RedState.com also lists the names and phone numbers of the CEOs.
And on his show last night, Stephen Colbert brought up the ad issue: “In the case of Geico, it’s especially hurtful because that stack of money with googly eyes is Glenn’s producer.”
