Middle East Crisis: “Not A Safe Place”

THR’s Paul Gough reports: “Safety isn’t far from the minds of anyone, from the correspondents and anchors on the front lines to the executives behind the scenes in New York. It’s even more so with fresh memories of the serious injuries to ABC’s Bob Woodruff and CBS’ Kimberly Dozier in attacks that also killed two CBS crew members.”

ABC senior VP Paul Slavin says “these folks are in places that are under fire, and while it’s not the intensity of Iraq and people are not actively looking to hurt them, unlike in Iraq, it’s still not a safe place.”

By the way, ABC was able to get those flak jackets to David Wright and his producer in Beirut…
