Media Titans Join ‘Bloomberg Bracket’ for Charity

Some of the most powerful media moguls and CEOs have signed on for a unique March Madness effort dubbed “Bloomberg Bracket,” in which each participant pledges $10,000 and all the money–the pot stands at $360,000–goes to the winner’s charity of choice.

The contest was the brainchild of Bloomberg’s Stephanie Ruhle. “My team and I had the idea to do this,” she said. “One of the great things about working for Mike Bloomberg–I went to Mike he said ‘I’m in, are you in?'”

In addition to Bloomberg, Google’s Eric Schmidt, AOL’s Tim Armstrong, and iHeartMedia’s Bob Pittman have all joined the competition, and most of them, unsurprisingly, have chosen Kentucky.
