Matt Lauer to Interview Karl Rove

NBC’s Matt Lauer will have a two-part exclusive next week with Karl Rove, former senior adviser to President George W. Bush and a Fox News contributor. “Today” has a taped segment Monday and Rove will be in studio Tuesday for a live interview. Rove is promoting his new book “Courage and Consequence,” and, according to the NBC release, “Rove tells Lauer it is now his turn to set the record straight.” Full release after the jump.

New York – March 5, 2010 – – In an exclusive two-part interview, Matt Lauer sits down with Former Senior Adviser to President Bush, Karl Rove on NBC News’ “Today.” Rove will discuss his new memoir “Courage And Consequence: My Life As A Conservative In The Fight,” in which he takes on his critics and explains his version of events from inside the White House. A taped portion of the interview will air Monday, March 8, and Rove will appear in “Today” Studio 1A Tuesday, March 9 for the live interview with Lauer.

The two-part interview will cover some of Rove’s toughest moments in the White House, including Iraq, the CIA leak scandal and Hurricane Katrina. Rove tells Lauer it is now his turn to set the record straight. He delves deeply into his personal life, and his political partnership with George W. Bush. Rove also opens up for the first time about his mother’s suicide and questions about his father’s sexuality.
