Lawrence O’Donnell Reveals That He Was Whitey Bulger’s Neighbor… In Boston AND Santa Monica

MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell revealed a fascinating connection between himself and the recently-captured Boston mob king James “Whitey” Bulger: they were neighbors… in both Boston and Santa Monica!

O’Donnell, like Bulger, grew up in South Boston. O’Donnell, also like Bulger, moved to Santa Monica 15 years ago:

“Imagine my shock when I woke up this morning to find that the FBI’s most wanted man has been a neighbor of mine… twice,” O’Donnell said. “Whitey Bulger, the most wanted man in Boston history, and the most hated gangster in Boston history, was found within walking distance of my home in Santa Monica, California. It turns out I was living closer to Whitey during his fugitive years than I was when he was a free man in Boston.

Whitey’s been living there for exactly the same amount of time as I have–fifteen years. I’ve driven by his apartment more times than I can count. I’ve walked past it. And I may have seen this couple many times … and I never would have realized I was looking at Whitey Bulger and his girlfriend.”
