Katie Couric got engaged over the Labor Day weekend.
The talk show host and ABC News special correspondent will marry John Molner. They’ve been dating for about two years.
Molner is the head of mergers and acquisitions at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. and is based in Chicago.
“We’re having a great time. He’s really funny and very successful in his own right. In a different line of work. A little more age appropriate,” Couric told USA Today,. Couric was referring to her previous boyfriend Brooks Perlin, who is 17 years younger than she. Molner is 50, Couric, 56.
Molner will be stepdad to Couric’s daughters, 21-year-old Ellie and 17-year-old Carrie Monahan. Couric’s husband Jay Monahan died from colon cancer in 1998.
