John Roberts made his Fox News Channel debut during “Studio B with Shepard Smith” this afternoon. Roberts and Smith talked about security concerns of congressmen and women after the attack on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords Saturday in Tucson, Ariz.
Roberts told Smith from his new perch in Atlanta:
The big question, Shep, is how do you provide that protection? What do you do? The capitol police right now, they protect the capitol building. They also provide the security details for the 10 members of the congressional leadership, but they have neither the manpower, nor the budget to be able to do that for all 535 members.

Then Smith said to his new colleague:
John Roberts, welcome aboard, my man. Great to have you on Fox.
Roberts joined Fox News last week after he could not come to terms on a new deal with CNN. Roberts had been co-anchor of CNN’s “American Morning” in New York, and has moved to Atlanta to be closer to his pregnant-with-twins fiancee, CNN anchor Kyra Phillips.
