John Avlon to Host First Post-Kurtz ‘Reliable Sources’

By Chris Ariens

CNN contributor and Newsweek/Daily Beast senior columnist John Avlon will be the host for tomorrow’s “Reliable Sources.” It’ll be the first non-Howard Kurtz moderated show in 15 years. Kurtz boasted that he’d never missed one of his shows since he was named host in 1998. “My own personal Cal Ripken streak,” he called it.

Two of Avlon’s Daily Beast/Newsweek colleagues are scheduled to guest on the show: senior correspondent Josh Rogin and columnist Michael Moynihan. Other guests include Errol Louis of NY1, and Jackie Kucinich, of The Washington Post. Here’s Avlon hosting mediabistroTV’s Newsweek/Daily Beast edition of Cubes.

Kurtz joined Fox News this week where he is developing a revamped version of FNC’s media criticism show, “Fox News Watch”
