CBS JimLongtime CBS producer Jim McGlinchy is serving as interim executive producer of “CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley,” TVNewser has learned.

The move follows the departure last week of executive producer Pat Shevlin who leaves “Evening News” for “60 Minutes.”

McGlinchy, who has been with CBS News for 41 years, has been senior broadcast producer for the show. He’s worked on the evening news broadcast for two separate stints; the first from 1993-2007, and then again starting in 2012. He started at CBS in 1973 as a desk assistant.

It isn’t clear whether McGlinchy is being considered for the permanent EP job, or when a permanent replacement will be named.
