Jets-Vikings Drama Makes For Ratings Winner

What do you get when you combine the nation’s largest television market, a cancerous wide receiver making his debut for a new team and creepy nude photos from (allegedly) a 41-year-old starting quarterback?

The highest overnight ratings for Monday Night Football.

For the first time this season, Monday Night Football (12.2) on ESPN drew a higher overnight than Sunday Night Football (11.7) on NBC, despite a 45-minute delay due to severe weather.

Jets-Vikings was the second-most viewed program on cable television this year and the sixth-most viewed program in cable television history in both households and viewers.

Monday’s ratings were also up 20 percent over last year’s Week 5 game between the Jets and Miami Dolphins.

Monday Night Football is due for a letdown next week as Jacksonville hosts Tennessee.

Good luck trying to sell that one out, Jacksonville.
