MSNBC has stolen another longtime CNNer to join its ranks.

Jeff Kepnes, who’s headed up special events at CNN since 2012, is joining MSNBC as senior ep of specials, reporting to network president Phil Griffin.

“Specials are a critical part of MSNBC’s programming mix, and as recently as last week we’ve seen increasing viewer appetite for them,” writes Griffin in a note to staff, obtained by TVNewser. “We’re going to do more in this area to meet that demand.”
