CNN’s Jake Tapper and his show “The Lead” have adopted an American soldier serving in Afghanistan through the “Homefront Hugs” program.
Tapper tweeted out the care package being sent to one of America’s servicemen.

“@HomefrontHugs tweeted me about it and it seemed like a cool thing to do—send care packages to troops abroad,” Tapper tells TVNewser about helping “The Lead’s” adoptee, who just turned 19. They sent him, upon request, vanilla Oreos, a pillow, razors, Army socks, gummies and a hunting magazine.
“It’s a small thing to do, but I know from traveling to Afghanistan that the troops appreciate the care packages and hang up the letters they get from civilians back home,” he added, urging people to adopt a soldier through homefronthugs.com, “or help give back in some other way.”
