Two stories dominated TV news coverage this morning: the landfall of Hurricane Isaac in New Orleans, and the speeches from Ann Romney and Chris Christie at the RNC.
On Weather Channel (which it should be noted was the first outlet to report Isaac’s landfall), Al Roker and Jim Cantore reported from inside the heart of the storm this morning. The duo also appeared on “Today”:

MSNBC is “The Place For Politics,” so of course the big story was the RNC. “Morning Joe” dedicated a 16 minute segment to analyzing Chris Christie’s convention speech:
MSNBC was criticized by The Daily Caller for not showing any of the speeches last night by minority speakers, though given the network’s progressive branding, one would really only expect it to show the “big name” addresses. Whether MSNBC also omits the less-anticipated speeches at the DNC is a bigger question.
Fox News had a nice mix of Isaac and convention coverage, but also took the time to offer some… quirkier..stories, like this one about elephant art in Tampa.
