A tipster noticed a new promotional spot for “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” includes the line: “If it’s Sunday Morning, it’s George.”
The sign-off, “If it’s Sunday, it’s ‘Meet the Press'” has been a fixture at the close of the NBC public affairs show for nearly 18 years. Tim Russert started using it on his first show, Dec. 8, 1991, says an NBC insider.
So what gives?
A source inside ABC says the tagline began a few weeks ago, the weekend ‘Meet the Press’ was off due to the French Open. And, the source says, ABC News has no plans to change it.
