RaddatzDebateThe Commission on Presidential Debates announced the sites and dates for three presidential and one vice presidential debate during the 2016 general election. Campuses in Ohio, Virginia, Missouri and Nevada have made the cut. The first will be 369 days from today, one week earlier (Oct. 3) than the first debate of the 2012 cycle. The final debate on Oct. 19, 2016 is a few days before the final debate of the 2012 cycle (Oct. 22.) Election Day is Nov. 8.

  • First presidential debate:
Monday, Sept. 26, 2016 | Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio.
  • Vice presidential debate:
Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016 | Longwood University, Farmville, Va.
  • Second presidential debate:
Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016 | Washington University, St. Louis, Mo.
  • Third presidential debate:
Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016 | University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Las Vegas, N.V.

The debate moderators have not yet been chosen. Last time around PBS’s Jim Lehrer, CNN’s Candy Crowley and CBS’s Bob Schieffer moderated the three presidential debates. All three have since left their respective networks. Last year, when we asked Lehrer if he’d moderate another debate, he told us: “No, no, a thousand times no.”

ABC’s Martha Raddatz moderated the only VP debate of the 2012 election.
