Harris Goes Into the Wild

By SteveK

Taking a break from the political focus, Nightline’s “Into the Wild” series begins next week as ABC News anchor Dan Harris travels into the Amazon to live with two isolated Indian tribes.

He will be the first journalist ever to report from the Enawene Nawe village, accessible only by boat. It airs Monday.

In part two, airing Wednesday, Harris investigates allegations made by evangelical Christian missionaries that native tribes are killing babies born with birth defects. He travels with missionaries through the Amazon, and gets the Brazilian government’s side, who are accusing the missionaries of crimes including slavery and kidnapping.
