Harold Ford NBC Contract ‘On Hold’

Former-Representative Harold Ford Jr.’s contract at NBC has been suspended reports Politico’s Michael Calderone. Ford has appeared on NBC and MSNBC programming as a “NBC political analyst,” but he is currently considering a run for Senate, which could create a conflict of interest.

An MSNBC spokesperson tells POLITICO that Ford’s deal “was put on hold” a few weeks ago, meaning that the network is not currently paying him. “We’ve still booked him in his capacity as a potential Senate candidate, and he’s questioned as such,” said the spokesperson.

Ford is set to appear on MSNBC’s “Meet the Press” as chair of the Democratic Leadership Council. He’s described as a “political insider.”
