Gigi Stone Joining CBS As ‘MoneyWatch’ Correspondent

By Alex Weprin

Former Bloomberg TV anchor Gigi Stone is joining CBS in a freelance role as correspondent for “MoneyWatch,” a personal finance segment produced for CBS stations. She will also occasionally contribute to other CBS News programming.

The job requires some early mornings, as some of the first hits can be on local news shows that air before “CBS This Morning.”

“It will be some early mornings for sure, so I will be up bright and early, rising and shining,” Stone tells TVNewser. “I’m used to the news business, and adapting to schedules that may not be nine to five.”

Stone says that it is particularly “exciting for me to be a part of this premium CBS brand,” noting some of the CBS News programming. As for what she hopes to accomplish in her new role:

“I am excited for the opportunity to do live reports from the Stock Exchange for all the CBS affiliates around the country as well as for the network; it seems like a good opportunity to really speak to people about the economy,” Stone says.

Stone’s predecessor Ashley Morrison, left the role early this month. Stone filled in on WPIX New York early this year, at the time she was still with Bloomberg TV.

Stone is also the host and co-producer of “Hiring America,” a nationally syndicated television show created to help military veterans find jobs. She hosted the MediabistroTV CUBES episode of Bloomberg TV, which you can watch below.
