Former CNN executive Eason Jordan has launched a website that combines the scientific rigor of public opinion polling with lighter, more engaging online polling. Poll Position, as it is called, launched in September with an attention-grabbing poll asking respondents what the “best” news network was.
Politico has more on what exactly the new company does:
“We’re not trying to be Burger King to McDonald’s, we consider ourselves a news media and social media company” as well as a pollster, said Jordan. “We’re a hybrid. It’s a niche that we’re trying to exploit. Polling companies aren’t going out of the way to engage the public. Social media have lots of opinions and not a lot of facts.”
