Former Angels Announcer Physioc Completing Bucket List

By Cam Martin

Former Angels announcer Steve Physioc was so inspired by the 2007 film The Bucket List starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman that he and his wife, Stacey, have spent some of the intervening years accomplishing many things they’d like do before they “kick the bucket.” They climbed Half Dome in Yosemite, went skydiving in California, zip-lining in Maui, and whitewater rafting down the Colorado River. But it’s not all about attending to selfish interests. Physioc and his wife are currently traveling around the country, touching base with family and old friends and committing random acts of kindness.

In an email to the Ocean County Register, Physioc said,

This year we decided to see our families and America on a road trip that would cover all four time zones, 18 states, 5000 miles and many National Parks. (Yellowstone and Glacier are the two biggies we will camp and hike on this adventure). We started out Friday, June 10th from our home in Trabuco Canyon and drove 12 hours to my sister’s house in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

Our goal is for each of us to do one random act of kindness every day and do a silly yoga pose in every state. The random acts of kindness can be something as simple as giving a five dollar tip for a two-dollar cup of coffee in Texhoma, Texas or picking up trash on a hiking trail in Santa Fe.”

Physioc, 56, was fired by the Angels in 2009 after 14 seasons announcing with the team. He has also called games for the Padres, Giants and Reds in his career.
