Jay Wallace‘s promotion as executive producer for news at FNC had a domino effect. “With Wallace’s promotion, another EP lost his position,” a tipster said a few days ago.
The EP is Jerry Burke. He was the executive producer of daytime programming, and he’s moving to Fox & Friends.
Another tipster said the newsroom is buzzing about Burke’s job change. “This move is widely viewed as a demotion (even though the announcement e-mail tried to put a positive spin on it),” the tipster wrote.
Burke will now co-EP the morning show with fellow EP David Clark. Why would the show need co-EPs? Perhaps Fox wants to create a staffing model similar to the network morning shows. (NBC has an EP and an exec-in-charge; ABC has an EP and a senior EP; and CBS has an EP and a morning VP.)
