Experian Hitwise: Week Ending May 14 Virtually Identical to Previous Week

By David Cohen

Fox News Channel’s The O’Reilly Factor remained atop the Experian Hitwise list of the top three cable-news-show websites for the week ending May 14, while two MSNBC shows swapped places, with The Rachel Maddow Show moving up to second place, climbing past No. 3 Morning Joe.

The top three late-night talk-show sites were unchanged from the week ending May 7 — Comedy Central’s The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report, followed by NBC’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

As usual, there were no changes in the morning-news-show rankings: NBC’s Today, ABC’s Good Morning America, and CBS’ The Early Show.

CBS was the top-ranked broadcast-network website for the week, but Fox moved past ABC to claim second place, dropping the Alphabet Network to third. The top three broadcast-show sites were unchanged: Fox’s American Idol, ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, and CBS’ Survivor. The only new entry to the top 25 was CBS’ Two and a Half Men (to No. 25 from No. 55).

The top three adults-only cable-show sites were also unchanged from the prior week: Comedy’s South Park and The Daily Show, followed by MTV’s 16 & Pregnant. There were no new top-25 shows.

When combining broadcast and cable shows, the top three for the third consecutive week were: American Idol, Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants, and South Park. There were no new top-25 shows.
