David Shuster Still in NBC Line-Up; Denies He Shot CNN Pilot?

Washington Examiner’s Yeas & Nays writes today that MSNBC host David Shuster, who has been off the cable airwaves, is still playing for the NBC softball team in D.C.’s Metropolitan Media League. He was fifth in the batting order last week, but usually bats clean-up.

MSNBC suspended Shuster “indefinitely” in early April after a report in the NY Observer that he had taped a pilot for CNN.

Interestingly, Yeas & Nays notes, “Since then, sources say, he has been telling friends that he never filmed a pilot with CNN but merely interviewed with them, which is within his right.”

After the article’s publication, Shuster sent a point-by-point response to Yeas and Nays, correcting that he does not wear “a uniform,” he’s played in the league for 20 years not two, and he never told other players he was on “paid vacation.” He also described the Examiner’s use of sources in a less flattering manner.
