Coverage Plans for President Obama’s Speech

The broadcast and cable news networks have planned special reports ahead of President Obama’s primetime address tonight. Here’s what they have planned for the speech, which is scheduled for 9pmET.

NBC News: Brian Williams will anchor a special report beginning at 9pmET.

CBS News: Scott Pelley will anchor live coverage of the speech, with chief White House correspondent Major Garrett contributing.

ABC News: Diane Sawyer will anchor coverage beginning at 9pmET.

PBS: Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff will anchor. They will be joined after the speech by “NewsHour” analysts Mark Shields and David Brooks.

Fox Broadcast Network: Shepard Smith will anchor beginning at 9pmET.

Fox News: Bret Baier will anchor coverage of the speech beginning at 8:55pmET. Following the speech, “On the Record with Greta Van Susteren” will be live at 10pmET and “The Five” will be live at 11pmET. Fox News will replay the President’s address at midnight.

MSNBC: Rachel Maddow will anchor from 8 to 10pmET, followed by live editions of “The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell” and “All in with Chris Hayes” at 10pm and 11pmET, respectively.

CNN: Anderson Cooper and Wolf Blitzer will anchor at 9pmET. Piers Morgan will anchor live at 9:30pmET, with “AC360 Later” at 10pmET. Jake Tapper will anchor an hourlong special, “Crisis in Syria: Decision Point,” at 11pmET.

CNN en Espanol: The network will air the President’s speech followed by a one-hour special on Syria, “Directo USA,” hosted by Juan Carlos Lopez.

Al Jazeera America: John Siegenthaler will host the network’s coverage of the President’s speech. Al Jazeera America will host a live town hall from the Newseum after the speech, hosted by Joie Chen with Antonio Mora.

Fox Business: Neil Cavuto will anchor from 8 to 10pmET.

Bloomberg TV: Al Hunt and White House correspondent Julianna Goldman will anchor beginning at 9pmET, with Bloomberg News analyst Matthew Dowd contributing. Charlie Rose’s interview with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will re-air at 8pm and 10pmET.

CNBC: Carl Quintanilla will anchor coverage of the President’s speech.
