Richard Roth has been at CNN for as long as there’s been a CNN—36 years, one of the few remaining CNN originals. He’s covered the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Gulf War, 9/11 and, for the last 23 years, has been CNN’s man at the United Nations.
But today, for one fleeting moment, he became an entertainment reporter when, at the U.N., he asked actor George Clooney about the divorce of his friends Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Roth began by saying, “Don’t shoot me on this last question…” But Roth was surprised to find out he broke the news to Clooney. WATCH:
