CNN is using its iReport technology to keep tabs on the pop culture happenings at Comic-Con, which takes place this weekend in San Diego. CNN has teamed up with EW.com to jointly issue assignments to viewers, ranging from snapping photos of the weekend’s most outrageous costumes to recording celebrity spottings. The best iReport submissions will be featured on CNN.com and EW.com, as well as on HLN’s “Showbiz Tonight.”

CNN is also covering Comic-Con from the ground, positioning their mobile bureau near the San Diego Convention Center. The network has interviews with Comic-Con attendees like Stan Lee and Elijah Wood scheduled to take place this weekend from the high definition broadcast center.
