Chuck Todd: ‘I Understand People Are Distrustful of Us in The Media’

By Mark Joyella

On MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Meet the Press host Chuck Todd talked about his interview with Democratic presidential frontrunner Hillary Clinton–and the belief that some major political interviews come with limitations. “I know that people think that. And I understand like people are distrustful of us in the media and think that we’re all in cahoots with these people in power.”

Todd, whose interview with Clinton dealt extensively with the email story that has damaged her campaign, said while Clinton’s team did not put limitations on the interview, others have tried. “I’m not going to say who, but there is a fairly prominent formal official who tried to put a condition on and we’ve just said no. And a lot of foreign leaders try to put conditions on interviews and we always say no.”

Todd’s interview with Clinton continues this afternoon, on the debut of his MSNBC show, MTP Daily, at 5 p.m. ET.
