Changes At CNN D.C.: Henry To White House, Bash & Koppel To Capitol Hill

By Brian

First on TVNewser: CNN is making some moves in Washington.

Ed Henry, who covered Capitol Hill for CNN after leaving Roll Call in 2004, is moving to the White House. He is trading places with Dana Bash, who has covered the White House since 2002. She’s moving up to Capitol Hill. State Department correspondent Andrea Koppel will join Bash on the Hill.

CNN D.C. bureau chief David Bohrman announced the changes this morning. “Dana, Ed and Andrea are very excited about their new assignments, and I really think this cross-pollination will strengthen both units,” he said in a memo. The full announcement is after the jump…

As we move into the 2006 election year, I am happy to announce some
changes to a couple of our key beats.

Starting Monday March 27 our correspondents on Capitol Hill will be Dana
Bash and Andrea Koppel. Ed Henry will move to the White House and join
Suzanne Malveaux and Elaine Quijano as one of our White House
correspondents. Dana, Ed and Andrea are very excited about their new
assignments, and I really think this cross-pollination will strengthen
both units. They will all bring a great deal of energy and superb
reporting skills to their new beats, as they have their last.

This new alignment, combined with our marquee team of Candy Crowley,
John King, John Roberts, Bill Schneider and Jeff Greenfield gives us by
far the strongest political coverage lineup in Washington
