CBS This Morning Up Double Digits

By Chris Ariens

morning-show-anchors_640CBS This Morning continues to make major inroads in the mornings.

The Charlie Rose, Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell-hosted show, which celebrates its 4th birthday next month, was up double digits last week, compared to the same week last year. In viewers, the show was up +13 percent. Among the ad-friendly A25-54 demo the show jumped +14 percent. And while CTM shows growth, the two other morning shows are losing viewers.

NBC’s Today show, which was the most-watched show among younger viewers last week, is down -7 percent in viewers and down -5 percent in the demo. ABC’s Good Morning America, which remains the most-watched overall, is down -9 percent in viewers, and down -18 percent in the demo.

Despite the growth, CTM remains in third place in the mornings. As CTM ep Chris Licht told TVNewser in October, “We believe in the product and we believe when people sample us, they like us. That’s all you can do…I really do hope we get to number two, and I really believe if we stick with this game plan, we will.”

The averages for the week of Nov. 30:

  • Total Viewers: ABC: 5.049M / NBC: 4.754M / CBS: 3.707M
  • A25-54 viewers: ABC: 1.701M / NBC: 1.894M / CBS: 1.118M
