Cablers Cover Death of Pilot Mid-Flight

By Chris Ariens

The cablers are covering the story of a Continental Airlines pilot who died mid-flight from Brussels to Newark. Flight 61 landed just before NoonET and because it was a longer flight, there was an additional relief pilot on board who took the place of the deceased pilot. Continental reports the Newark-based pilot was 61 years old and had been with the airline 21 years.

CBS produced a breaking news crawl during morning programming, which means any news junkies watching “The Price is Right” probably flipped over to the cablers.
